I'm Newman Banskota, a realistic pencil portrait artist based in Nepal. What began as a habit of sketching faces in the margins of my notebooks has grown into a practice built entirely around graphite, patience, and paper.
Every portrait is drawn entirely by hand, built up in layers of shading and fine linework until a likeness starts to breathe on the page. I care about getting the small things right β the catch-light in an eye, the softness of a smile, the exact weight of a shadow β because those are the details that make a portrait feel like the person it's drawn from.
